Simple Pillow Pattern

SIMPLE PILLOW

H hook

This project is worked in one piece.

473 yards of taupe Lion Brand Jiffy yarn (3.5 skeins).

2015-12-13 09.58.09

Foundation Row: Ch 61. I sc in first chain from hook. Sc across. Turn. (60 st)

Row 1: Sc in first st and across. Turn.

Rows 2-100: repeat row 1 for pattern. Fasten off end and sew in tails.

Fold block in half so that the b]foundation row and ending row meet. Beginning in a top corner, 3 sc in corner and then one sc in each st across, sewing together top side. At corner place 3 more sc and sc across next side. Repeat until there is a small space for to allow for stuffing. Stuff pillow and finish sewing closed.

Add a second row of sc around the pillow. Finish and sew in tail.

To sew on Flowers: pin them to the pillow in desired position. The “pink flower” is sewn on by sewing into round 3 and the pillow, in order to maintain the curved shape of the flower. The “orange flower” was sewn on through the back loops of the last round, and into the pillow slightly underneath the flower.

NOTE: When working a repetitive stitch for many rows, there are a couple of techniques you can use to keep track. A: You can keep a tally on a post-it or piece of paper. B: you can place a marker every five or ten rows (and if you don’t want to go buy some – safety pins do really well).
